What else can I say about pianist Maria Letona other than wonderful. I had the pleasure to meet Maria at the beginning of this year and since she accompanied me this last February I can tell that she will remain my first call at anytime I need a pianist  for any of my future projects including recitals and recordings. When I worked with Maria my performance felt so comfortable and easy. Dr. Letona's accompaniment enhanced my interpretation of two full trombone concertos from beginning to the end. According to my acceptance letter for the Grad School at Frost School of Music (UofM), my audition was "very impressive and very musical". I thank Dr. Maria Letona for that. I hope we play together again in the near future.

Maria Letona has generously given her time and her talent to the South Miami K-8 music magnet program this entire school year.  Maria has time and time again accompanied our choir and students without much warning and yet with such grace and finesse you'd think she had known about it and prepared well in advance. Her accompanying is outstanding.  She is a great follower and improviser.  So much so that when my private violin student from New World needed an accompanist to record her audition for a national competition, I begged Maria to do it.  I knew that she would come to the recording prepared and that she would add a great deal to the recording as well as have a great attitude, which is so important.In my 26 years performing and competing as a violinist, I know that it is extremely difficult and rare to find a quality accompanist.  It takes more than just great piano playing, but also the ability to listen, play sensitively and focus on balance and ensemble.  Miami is extremely lucky to have such a great accompanist who is also just a fantastic person. I give Maria my highest recommendation!

Dr. Letona is excellent!  She is a wonderful teacher and accompanist for our young students.  Dr. Letona helps young musicians open up musically when she accompanies them, and is also an excellent piano class teacher.
